Yosemite Fires Update
Yosemite National Park, CA — Yosemite´s Boundary Fire is scheduled to be totally contained today. Sunday´s latest report has the human caused fire at 90 per cent containment. Total acreage burned stands at 536. The fire is located less than a mile north of Ribbon Falls and a half a mile northwest of the summit of El Capitan. The fire started a week ago today due to an out-of-control campfire.
The Middle T fire, caused by lightning on July 20th and allowed to burn for ecological purposes, is now being suppressed due to the amount of smoke produced. The Middle T fire is located four miles west of White Wolf and two miles southwest of Harden Lake along the historic Great Sierra Wagon Rd. The Middle T was scheduled for total suppression Sunday.
A number of trails have been closed throughout the park due to these fires.
