Sponsored by:

Murphys, CA — The Walt Gray Ride for the benefit of the Make-A-Wish Foundation is coming this weekend.

Sunday, some 3,000 motorcyclists will register between 8 and 10am at the Elk Grove Harley Davidson shop at Hwy 99 and Grant Line Rd. The ride will start at 10am taking approximately 90 minutes to reach Ironstone Vineyards in Murphys. The bikers will travel south on Hwy 99 and exit Liberty Rd. heading east. Travel will continue on Hwy 88 to Hwy 12 when the latter becomes Hwy 49 into Angels Camp. The ride party-raffle-lunch is scheduled to start at 11:30 lasting until 2:30.

In the three years of the Walt Gray Ride just under $100,000 has been raised for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The entry fee is $20 per bike.

C.H.P. Officer Mike Maddox says nine Calaveras based officers will be on duty along with three officers from the Angels Camp Police Department to help monitor traffic. Maddox adds that in the initial three years of the event, there have been no negative incidents with the motorcyclists.
