New School Year = Changes And Growth In Tuolumne County

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — With students all over the Mother Lode heading back to school this month, Tuolumne County Superintendent of Schools, Joe Silva says there are a lot of changes happening in the area.

Last week, Silva said several new superintendents were involved in orientation to get them acquainted with the county and ensure their success in the Mother Lode.

Along with the new staff, Silva says new funding is also available. His office received several grants to make art a bigger part of education and Silva believes the program will be a huge success.

When it comes to testing, officials are reviewing the scores from several schools to identify possible weaknesses in order to work with the schools to turn the weaknesses into strengths.

Silva said there is more going on in local schools than he could possibly list and he is extremely excited about what the year may bring.
