Mistaken Identity Leads To Bust

Sponsored by:

Don Pedro, CA– One Modesto man has a clean conscience after a Sunday morning incident.

Thirty- seven- year old Jerry Shelton was pulled over in Fleming Meadows Campground because his car matched the description of one that had been involved in thefts in the area.

The Tuolumne County Sheriff´s Department reports that Don Pedro Park rangers were speaking with Shelton and during the conversation; a ranger spotted a methamphetamine pipe.

Shelton then willingly gave the ranger both the pipe and about one-third grams of methamphetamine from his vehicle. Shelton said he turned over the drugs because he wanted to be honest.

Shelton was taken to the county jail and booked for possession of methamphetamine and methamphetamine smoking paraphernalia.
