Weekend Fires In The Mother Lode
San Andreas, CA – Mother Lode firefighters were kept busy over the weekend.
Friday evening and extending into Saturday, a five acre fire expanded to 13 acres in an isolated area of Stanilaus National Forest land between the Tuolumne and Clavey Rivers.
Saturday, a vehicle accident caused a four acre fire on Highway 4 near the Calaveras/Stanislaus County line.
Sunday morning, a fire set by an arsonist burned approximately one acre near the Tuolumne Utility District building on Tuolumne Rd.
During the noon hour, two fires totaling two acres broke out in the 108/120 corridor near O´Byrnes Ferry Rd.
Sunday afternoon individuals playing with fire caused a spot fire that was quickly extinguished in the Tuolumne City area.
