Sonora, CA — Water conservation will be requested later this month when PG&E does its annual maintenance of the Tuolumne Main Canal.
Known as the ditch outage, the Tuolumne Utilities District will only have access to water held in its storage tanks and limited-capacity groundwater wells. TUD customers will be urged to conserve water, limit outside watering, not wash vehicles, and turn off automatic lawn and drip sprinklers.
The maintenance work is scheduled for Sunday, October 12, through Sunday, October 19. TUD officials relay that conservation during that period ensures an adequate water supply for drinking, sanitary usage, and fire protection.
