Calaveras Employee Contract Up For Vote
San Andreas, CA — A new contract is on the table for Calaveras County employees.
Monday the Board of Supervisors will consider the contract, which grants employees a three and a half percent cost of living increase plus other perks.
After nearly one year of negotiations, Human Resources Director Francine Osborn says the county and the employees represented by Service Employees International Union, Local 4988, have come to an agreement.
The contract is good for two years.
The three and a half percent raise would be retroactive to January 2006.
Also included in the plan is three-days of vacation as compensation for the furlough days employees were required to take in 2004.
The board meets at 9 a.m. at the Government Center in San Andreas.
