We were disappointed to hear the personal attacks on Mayor Pro Tem Suzanne Cruz at a recent Sonora City Council meeting and appreciate Mayor Ann Segerstrom’s response and rational argument on Ms. Cruz’s appointment based upon her qualifications rather than her reported personal positions on social issues. While we’ve grown accustomed to name-calling on the national political stage, it’s unfortunate to see us descend to that locally.
