Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald

by Sabrina Biehl

In 1927, six months after the first film ends, magizoologist Newt Scamander joins forces with young Albus Dumbledore to prevent the devious Gellert Grindelwald from raising pure-blood wizards to rule over all non-magical beings. The second movie in the projected five-movie franchise written by J.K. Rowling is closer to and occasionally interacts with elements of the Harry Potter plot line.

“A vibrant, engaging improvement on the series’ first installment.” -Caryn James –The Hollywood Reporter

“JK Rowling’s creative imagination is as fertile as ever, and newcomers Law and Johnny Depp impress, but the second film in the series is bogged down by franchise detail.” –Peter Bradshaw –The Guardian
