Venture into John Muir’s beloved Hetch Hetchy Valley to visit the second-tallest waterfall in Yosemite National Park and one of the top twenty in North America. The awe-factor doesn’t stop there. Besides the natural wonders of falling water and towering, glaciated rock, there’s the man-made engineering feat of O’Shaughnessy Dam built in the aftermath of the 1906 San Francisco earthquake and fire. At 5 fairly level miles, the hike is one of the easiest in Yosemite National Park. To RSVP and receive meet-up instructions, go to the “Contact Us” page at kaad-lp.org. Refer to TCT in the subject line. The Tuolumne County Trailhead program airs on KAAD-LP 103.5 FM (Sonora’s community radio station) on second and fourth Sundays at 12:30pm; hikes are monthly on first Saturdays.
