The 5th Annual Handmade Parade is making its triumphant return on Saturday October 1st in Jamestown – and it’s shaping up to be a big one!
Rocca Park activities begin at 3pm with the free Make-It//Take-It craft tables, where the community is invited to make fun things out of recycled materials that can be worn in the parade.
There will also be a facepainter in the park, by the playground, who will accept donations in exchange for transforming your face into an artistic vision of your choice.
At 4pm we will enjoy the vocal stylings of Terra Manthorne.
From 4pm to 6pm Infinite Spin will be helping kids try out some circus tricks in their Circus Play Zone, right there in the park. A variety of circus props (hoola hoops, juggling, poi, etc.) will be there for guests to play and learn with, while an experienced performer will provide tips and instruction.
Starting around 5pm, get ready to enjoy local favorite LuckyCuZn brass band, perform- ing live in Rocca Park, right before we shut down the street and line up for the parade!

Everyone is encouraged to register to be IN the parade, marching in costume, right along- side LuckyCuZn brass band, local LED performers from BlakRoze Entertainment, and other community members and organizations. Registration can be completed ahead of time by visiting the Tuolumne County Arts website at www.mytuolumnecountyarts.org and clicking the registration link on the landing page. Registrants will also be accepted on the day of the event, right up until 5:30 pm – but people are encouraged to register online ahead of time.

Main Street in Jamestown will then close at 6pm, between Seco and Donovan in prepara- tion for the parade.

Parade walkers will line-up starting at 6:30pm, along Smoke St. near the park, while Liminal Light & Shadow Show will present a liquid light show, as soon as it gets dark enough.

Also, while the parade walkers line-up, Mountain Youth and Community Theatre will perform a song for the audience from their highly anticipated upcoming show “The Lightning Thief”! Then, just before dusk, Zafira’s BellaDivas will perform a number for the crowd, before starting off the parade with a bang!
We parade at dusk!

The parade route goes from Rocca Park, down Main Street, to Donovan and loops back around – and we’ll do that route twice just for fun!
After coming back to the park after the second loop, we will gather around the trapezoid in the street in front of the park for prizes!
Awards will be given out for best costumes, best group costumes, and other categories!
Directly following the parade and the awards, Infinite Spin from Sacramento will present their spectacular LED Glow Show, a variety show with light up props, acrobatics, and more!
The road will reopen by 9pm and the street party will move back into the park for a glow- ing LED after-party, with performances in the gazebo by local garbage rock heroes, Wet Meadow – and their friends, the self proclaimed Kings of Limbo, Hully Gully.
This art party is going to be a big one! Wear a costume to the event – or make a mask or hat at the craft tables and jump-in the fun! Come join the excitement – and parade with us down Main Street, October 1st in Jamestown!
See you in the street!
