Statewide Education Reform Tour Comes to Calaveras County
TOWN — Lance Christensen will be facilitating an education reform forum on Saturday, April 15th, 2023 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm hosted by the Calaveras Republican Women Federated. Christensen, Vice President of Education Policy and Government Affairs at the California Policy Center (CPC), was one of the principal authors of the school choice initiative proposal in 2021 and ran against Tony Thurmond for state Superintendent of Public Instruction in 2022.

Christensen is visiting counties throughout California as part of CPC’s Take Back California Education Reform Tour. The statewide tour aims to provide a platform for parents, educators, school board members, and other concerned community members to exchange ideas on the problems with California’s education system and help identify real-world actions that can be taken to advance meaningful education reform at the local and state levels.
“We’re here to get local input from the people most impacted by the poor state of our education system and uncover where urgent reform is needed most,” Christensen said.
“We want to invite open dialogue that will allow us to diagnose the problem and realign our education priorities to prepare students to thrive in 21st-century California,” Christensen said. “I welcome sharp opinions and informed disagreement about viable alternatives at every stop.”
The education forum is open to the public. Attendees, please rsvp to Barb at vpmembership.crwf@gmail.com so we are prepared for all the participants.
