TAI-YOGA TUESDAYS make Tuolumne County healthier!

Blue Zones Project and the City of Sonora have partnered to offer a series of FREE healthy classes every Tuesday morning for the next 13 weeks.

Tai-Yoga Tuesdays are starting Sept. 13 and go through Dec. 13, 8am to 9am at the Sonora Opera Hall, in downtown Sonora. Yoga and Tai Chi will alternate weeks.

Many know the benefits of healthy stretching and breathing. Yoga and Tai Chi both celebrate this healthy activity. Perhaps a class has not been available to you in a simple, inexpensive way. Now it is an easy choice to make and a perfect time to try it. Blue Zones Project has had two long-time instructors come on board to make this happen.

TAI CHI: Laureen Campana has taught this movement exercise at Columbia College for 15 years. Done with standing or sitting, participants will enjoy the graceful and meditative quality of Laureen the movements. They also find health benefits as far-reaching as improved strength, balance, stress relief, pain relief and more. Appropriate for all levels.
Wear comfortable clothing and shoes (or non-slip socks)

YOGA: Hoyt Cory is a long-time local yoga and meditation teacher with a background in wellness and holistic health. Yoga is restorative in nature using easy stretching, good breathing and deep relaxation. Comfortable/flexible clothes are recommended. All levels are welcome. Bring a yoga mat if possible. A few are available to borrow.

Both classes are FREE and Blue Zones Project hopes to encourage people to make a small change in their schedule that will lead to better health!
