The Columbia College Community Chorus is proud to present its exciting spring 2023 concert. American composer Randall Thompson is featured in the first half. Frostiana, with Robert Frost’s evocative poetry and the tantalizing harmonies of Randall Thompson is complemented by Alleluia, restrained yet luscious, plus his work The Last Words of David.
The second half showcases SOngs of Nature: The Soul of a Tree, Earth Song and The Wonders of Nature, a piece featuring the collaboration of Dr. Hollinger, the composer, with Bonnie Hollinger, the poet- a world premiere Songs from Around the World brings two songs from the African continent as well as a piece based on a traditional Indian raga. The concert concludes with two rousing African American Spirituals.
