Update on Pinecrest Day Use! The three-bathroom buildings closest to the Marina are accessible. A handful of parking spots are available near the snack shack, but the main lots remain closed due to the snow load.
Tomorrow, Saturday, March 18, we are hosting Snowshoe with a Ranger (and Pinecrest Nordic Ski Patrol) at 10:30 am. Meet up at the Crabtree Winter Trailhead (just before the Dodge Ridge entrance – turn right onto Crabtree Road).

Appreciate the beauty of the Stanislaus National Forest from a different perspective. Forest Rangers will share information about the natural history and cultural history of the area as you snowshoe along the path. Bring a pair of snowshoes and poles for balance. Snowshoes can be rented along Highway 108. Wear warm snow jacket, snow pants, hat, and bring water and a snack.

Fees: Free    Registration required: No

Update: The snow is DEEP! This is an athletic sport at high elevation so you will get a nice workout. Bring water and a snack. If you have never snowshoed before no problem. We will help you get started! If you want to bring your well-behaved doggo, they are welcome, please keep them on a 6′ leash and bring them water. This program is recommended for ages 8 and up. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
