The following will be presented in two consecutive (back-to-back) courses:
1) HANDS-ONLY-CPR:
Many people who survive a cardiac emergency are helped by a bystander. In this brief course, you can learn how to perform Hands-Only-CPR, so that you can help deliver life-saving care until professional responders arrive.
The American Red Cross Hands-Only-CPR course teaches untrained bystanders how to perform hands-only CPR. Having more citizen bystanders trained in this simple skill can help save lives by putting more cardiac arrest victims within a few steps of lifesaving assistance.
The Hands-Only-CPR technique is taught in a 30 minute skill building session.
Participants learn how to check for consciousness, call 9-1-1 (or local emergency number), and give continuous chest compressions.
Certification in CPR training is not provided through this course.
(Class time: Approximately 30-45 minutes)
2) BE RED CROSS READY:
Is a national, standardized preparedness program taught by a certified presenter. The curriculum goes beyond the standard 3-step preparedness plan by helping attendees understand, prepare for, and respond appropriately to year-round disasters like home fires and regional disasters like wildfires. (Class time: Approximately 45-60 minutes)
