Don’t miss the first event for the Historic Red Church Preservation Fund. Join us to learn the true story of Elizabeth Leary who produced concerts, balls, and assemblies in Columbia California under the Sole Proprietor Act of 1852, which allowed women to run their own businesses in California.

Hear the songs that were performed by Catherine Hayes who was known as the Swan of Erin, and Elizabeth Biscaccianti who was hailed as the American Thrush. Discover the fascinating stories of these intrepid divas who brought the highest level of artistry to the Mother Lode during the Gold Rush.

Catherine Gordon tells the tales and sings the songs in the historic and acoustically delightful Red Church follwed by tea, sweets, and savories in the Parish Hall. Victorian attire is welcome if you wish.

Tickets are $25 and proceeds go to the Historic Red Church Preservation Fund at he Sonora Area Foundation.

Tickets are available at Mountain Book Shop or via EventBrite: Saturday – https://rb.gy/rlkem or Sunday – https://rb.gy/1qd73.
