The POGs and Rogues Outdoor Veteran Group is an emerging outdoor recreational group for veterans in the Western Sierras.
For our first event we will be meeting the parking lot of Woods Creek Rotary Park for coffee and we will step off from there. The Trail is about 2 miles and has a good uphill component. Wear hiking shoes and bring water.
Don’t let the name deter you, everyone is welcome. Co founder Kenneth Wilkerson was an 0311 and Cricket Creekmore, co founder of POGs (Personnel Other than Grunts) and Rogues Outdoor Veteran Group was an AE2 in the Navy. Getting outside and connecting with other veterans helped ground me and community has been an important corner stone of getting my mental health on track and keeping it there. I’m a member of some other wonderful Veteran Outdoor Groups but noticed we did not have one in this area so here we are! Events will be alcohol free.
