The UCCE Tuolumne County Master Gardeners will host a presentation by Jordan Lowery of Dambacher Farms at their General Meeting on Tuesday, February 4th, beginning at 6:00pm at the Senior Center, 540 Greenley Road, Sonora. His presentation will be on “Mushrooms: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.” Jordan is a farmer at a Dambacher Family Farm in Sonora, CA. They use permaculture and no-till techniques to produce high quality, nutrient dense vegetables and strawberries. Alongside the vegetable production, they also produce gourmet mushrooms year-round. They grow Oyster, Lion’s Mane, Chestnut and Trumpet mushrooms. This venture aids in the fertility and biological cycles of the rest of the farm as the mushroom waste makes a fantastic nutrient rich compost for vegetables.
The public is welcome to attend the free presentation.
