*Plans are well underway for our 2025 parade – SATURDAY OCTOBER 4th in Jamestown!*
Volunteer help is needed
Please let us know if you are interested in helping us with any of the following volunteer positions:
- Physical Poster Distribution (before the event)
- Set-up (starting at 9am on Saturday Oct. 4th)
- Craft Tables – LANTERNS! (help the public make quick and easy lanterns in the afternoon, before the parade)
- Barricades/Street Safety (during the parade, we need 3 – 4 teams of 2)
- Take-down/Clean-up at the end of the night
If you are interested in volunteering, we will be hosting 5 zoom meet-ups to answer questions and plan together
Come to any or all of these: Sunday Sept. 14th, Thurs Sept. 18th, Sunday Sept. 28th, Thursday Oct. 2nd
Our emphasis at Handmade Parade is always on creative reuse, but our secondary theme this year is
ENDANGERED CREATURES!
Of course, this is merely a suggestion, and all are welcome to wear and display creations of all sorts!
Craft tables this year will be for LANTERN MAKING!
(you can learn the how-to before the parade at a workshop, see below)
LuckyCuZn will be joining us this year (welcome back!) as well as Phoenix Fire Family, with LED and fire performances
Posters are almost ready to be printed – and we will need help distributing them – I will email digital copies to everyone when they are ready – please share the info with everyone you can! :)
We are planning to host two food trucks this year – Los Unicos and The Joy of Lumpia
KFUT (kfut.org) will also be joining us, to raise awareness about the opportunity for a new high power community radio station and raise money with a raffle …and the 1st Annual David Lynch Memorial Chair Pull!
Sierra Scales Exotics will also be joining us, with an informative booth about reptiles & amphibians
