The Columbia College Community Chorus presents its 2019 Spring Concert on Saturday, April 27, at 7:30 pm and also Sunday, April 28, at 3:00 pm – at St. Matthew Lutheran Church with Dr. Daryl Hollinger conducting. Tickets are $10 presale/$12 at the door/$5 age 12 and under, and available at The Mountain Bookshop, Manzanita Bookstore and Murphys Music.

The Spring Concert features Gabriel Faure’s “Requiem” for chorus, soloists, chamber orchestra and organ. “Love is in the Air” is the theme of the second half of the concert, which begins with three Renaissance madrigals followed by a selection from the delightful “Liebeslieder Waltzes” by Johannes Brahms. A group of American folk songs will include the popular audience sing-along and an exciting arrangement of “Clementine.” The concluding love songs – “A Bit of Jazz” – will feature an accompanying jazz ensemble with works by Burt Bacharach and George Gershwin, plus the premiere of “California Love Song,” a poem by Calaveras County resident Carol Osterlund set to music by Dr. Daryl Hollinger.
