St. Matthew Lutheran Church

The Columbia College Community Chorus, led by Dr. Daryl Hollinger, will perform its annual Spring Concert at St. Matthew Lutheran Church on Saturday evening, April 21st, 7:30 pm; and again on Sunday afternoon, April 22nd, 3:00 pm. The first half of the concert features Mozart’s “Solemn Vespers” for chorus, orchestra and soloists, and two of Dr. Hollinger’s arrangements, both adapted from Psalm 98. After an intermission, the audience will be treated to a variety of African-American spirituals, some written by the famed Alice Parker, and also songs of the sea, called “sea shanties.” With Daryl Hollinger conducting the talented 40-voice chorus, and Dorothy Woodford Arndt accompanying on the piano, the audience is assured of a delightful concert of good music.

Tickets available at Mountain Bookshop, Murphys Music Company, Manzanita Bookstore, or from any Community Chorus member. Tickets are $10 each, or $5 for those age 12 and under; and they will be available at the door for $12. For more information, call 209-533-2319.
