Walk among ancient, giant sequoias. Experience autumn color. Try your hand at nature journaling. This month’s hike with Tuolumne County Trailhead is a five-mile moderate-level hike at the South Grove of Calaveras Big Trees State Park. The South Fork of the Stanislaus River also runs through the parkway. Bring water, trail snacks/lunch. No dogs. To RSVP and receive meet-up instructions, go to the “Contact Us” page at kaad-lp.org. The Tuolumne County Trailhead program airs on KAAD-LP 103.5 FM (Sonora’s community radio station) on second and fourth weekends at 12:30pm; hikes are monthly on first Saturdays.
