Crowned with rock outcrops and bushy oak trees, Brushy Peak, is a distinctive site at the base of the Altamont Pass in Livermore. It was important to indigenous people as a sacred place along trade routes. It was attractive to early ranchers as a recreation spot. Tuolumne County Trailhead will trek to this haven in the bustling Bay Area to enjoy a 7-mile moderate-to-strenuous hike. We expect to see wildflowers and birds. Bring water, trail snacks/lunch. ON-LEASH dogs welcome. To RSVP and receive meet-up instructions, go to the “Contact Us” page at kaad-lp.org. Refer to TCT in the subject line. The Tuolumne County Trailhead program airs on KAAD-LP 103.5 FM (Sonora’s community radio station) on second and fourth Sundays at 12:30pm; hikes are monthly on first Saturdays.
