AAUW of Sonora will hold their first meeting of the 2019-20 fiscal year, a “Salad Supper”, at the Motherlode Fairgrounds on September 12, 2019 beginning at 5pm. This event offers a great opportunity for women and men who might be interested in joining AAUW, American Association of University Women, to meet members and learn about the coming year’s activities.
AAUW leaders will be introducing the recipients of the AAUW Tech Trek STEM scholarships, six 12-year-old girls who just completed a week long science camp at Fresno State. Hearing about the young women’s exposure to robotics, physical science, engineering, math, etc. in a college campus setting is always the highlight of the evening. Everyone leaves the dinner with a renewed sense of purpose and dedication to our mission.
In recognition of the close relationship with Tuolumne County teachers, AAUW of Sonora is inviting all Tuolumne County educators to accept an invitation to be a complimentary guest at the dinner. Our Sonora Branch is proud to have over 75 retired educators as members, both men and women. No matter what their work history or gender, all members are involved in promoting equity and education for women and girls. AAUW of Sonora is also a robust social group with widely varied interest group activities that help keep members engaged and entertained.

If you are interested in attending the Salad Supper, or would like more information about AAUW of Sonora, please contact Kay OKerrins at 650 646 1945 or visit aauwsonora.org.
