Inside Story
myMotherLode continues to improve and as the Internet Program Director I wanted to share some tips and tricks for getting things done on myMotherLode.com.
Comments
First, thank you to everyone who has registered for the site and logs in to comment! I have kept busy approving them and we truly appreciate the sympathy and updates from friends especially with accident injuries. Be kind to each other (or you comment won’t get posted) and stay safe out there!
Blogs
We are ramping up our blog section as the place for local leaders to dive in to local Mother Lode issues. You will find blogs from the Sheriff, Police and Health Departments (both from Tuolumne and Calaveras counties) along with my blogs starting next week.
The Classifieds
Keep in mind this is a separate log in and there is a lot of great stuff that can be posted for free. (On a side note LastPass is a highly recommended, easy and free way to secure and keep track of all your online passwords.) Remember classified items post for 7 days so check the listings often, renew your old listings and don’t hesitate to make an offer if you are interested!
Rentals, Homes, Jobs and Cars are $1/day to prevent scammers from around the world from posting in our local classifieds. To keep our classifieds very high quality report anything that is not. The FBI website features new scams, report scams to ic3.
Yellow Pages
myMotherLode’s yellow pages are “For The People and By The People”. We want to most accurate information in the world but it is far too big of a database for me to manage alone! The update a listing process is newly redone and quite simple to use: click here. The upgrade price is $25 a month (minimum 1 year).
Still to come
Video sharing! The multimedia video section has been fun to update with YouTube videos but I know there is a lot more local video producing and sharing going on, soon we will have a way to showcase it.
Coupons are a great deal and the local companies who have posted them certainly earned their money back with the redemptions. For technical reasons the ad for the section was moved down the right side. Local coupons are a feature that will get even more attention in the near future.
We appreciate the feedback that we have received and will continue to improve the site.
