Fireman’s Ball
Saturday I had a great time dancing at the 151st Annual Fireman’s Ball at the Opera House in downtown Sonora. The Fireman’s Ball is a major fund-raiser of the historic Eureka Engine Company #1 and the Independent Hose & Chemical #2 of the Sonora Fire Department. The live music was performed by Chains Required and was perfectly funky! We were all on our feet to grooving for several hours with nice breaks to rest our feet, chat, and mingle in-between the sets. It was a great event to show off swing dancing skills with a few people I recognized from local dance classes. (Which I highly recommend checking out.) With ‘older teens’ welcome I still think it was the retired people who enjoyed letting loose and dancing the most! Many thanks for a great night, and a special shout-out to the belly dancing ladies and drummers at Donny D’s Waterwheel Saloon- I caught the end of the "Hafla" and had a great time there too!
I hope everyone attending the Emblem Club Valentine Dinner Dance has a great time tonight!
