Update: Boneyard Fire Near Priest Coulterville Road, Evacuations
Update at 7:10 pm: The Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office reports that the evacuation orders for the Boneyard Fire will remain in place through the overnight hours. Deputies will remain on scene to patrol the evacuated areas.
Limited new information is anticipated to be released about the fire overnight unless there is a notable change in conditions.
Update at 6:51 pm: CAL Fire says the Boneyard Fire size estimate remains 202 acres. Smoke visible in that area has noticeably reduced compared to earlier this afternoon, indicating the crews are continuing to make very good progress battling the fire. The earlier evacuation warnings and orders from the Mariposa and Tuolumne Sheriff’s Office, and road closures nearby, still remain in place.
Update at 5:51 pm: Some of the resources on the Boneyard Fire have been diverted to a report of a new incident in the 9600 block of Rimrock Road near Rawhide Road. A travel trailer has reportedly caught on fire. The size of the Bone Fire is still estimated to be 202 acres.

Update at 4:14 p.m.: CAL Fire reports that the Boneyard Fire is now 202 acres. It ignited in the 8000 block of Priest Coulterville Road south of Highway 120 and near the Tuolumne and Mariposa County lines. Both counties have evacuations issued. Update at 2:30 p.m.: CAL Fire reports that the Boneyard Fire is now 100 acres and burning in the 8000 block of Priest Coulterville Road south of Highway 120. The Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office is reporting evacuations ordered as follows:

MARIPOSA COUNTY SHERIFF’S:
Update at 2:21 p.m.: Air and ground resources are battling the 50-acre Boneyard Fire, a vegetation fire burning in the 8000 block of Priest Coulterville Road, south of Highway 120 near the Tuolumne and Mariposa County line. Evacuations have been ordered in Mariposa, according to Tuolumne County Sheriff’s officials, who report, “TCSO deputies are currently en route to assist Mariposa County Sheriff with evacuations in the Jackass Creek area. We currently have over 10 units working in the area, ready to assist with any potential evacuations.”
Mariposa County Sheriff’s officials report that an American Red Cross Shelter will open a Temporary Evacuation Point at 3:30 p.m. at the Lake Don Pedro Elementary School, 2411 Hildalgo, La Grange. Those in need of support or resources should call the support services line at 209-432-9227. They noted that a member of their team will call you back.
Original post at 1:33 pm.: Moccasin, CA — Air and ground resources are heading to a vegetation fire where a large plume can be seen in the sky on Priest Coulterville Road.
The flames broke out on that roadway south of Highway 120. Currently, there are no details regarding the fire’s size, the flames’ rate of spread, or whether any structures are threatened. An update will be provided as soon as new information comes into the newsroom.
