Fatal Accident In Oakdale

CHP reports a fatal accident occured on Saturday along Sierra Road west of Wamble Road in Oakdale. Armando Reyes of Riverbank was traveling westbound on Sierra Road while under the influence of alcohol. When Reyes tried to control his vehicle, which had gone onto the shoulder, he over corrected and spun his car out of control. He allowed the car to hit an oak tree on the passenger side of the truck where Edward Vieira was sitting. Vieira died due to injuries sustained by the impact of the collision. Reyes is being charged with felony manslaughter, DUI and drug possession.
