No Strike For Grocers

Union workers at 294 Safeway and Albertson´s stores in Northern California have rejected management´s
“last, best´´ offer. But they failed to authorize the first strike at the stores in more than six years. A federal mediator has asked both sides to return to the
bargaining table to find a peaceful solution.
