On Friday, members of the community are planned to gather at what will be for some, a memorable and for others a disappointing day in Sonora. Plans have been made to chop down a 90 year old Sequioa tree. The tree currently stands at the old Sonora Elemntary schoool grounds near the dome building. Officials say that the tree´s roots are defective and that the unstable tree could come down at anytime, and possibly on an innocent person. The tree will be taken down sometime between 10am and noon.
