Man Dies In Multi Car Accident

A Lemoore man died in a traffic accident on State Road 198 near Jameson Avenue in Coalinga. The man was traveling along this stretch of road around 6:00 Friday morning. He attempted to pass a series of vehicles in foggy weather when he hit his brakes hard and lost control of the car. He hit 3 other cars as he slid across the road. One car fled the scene and CHP are trying to locate the driver for felony hit and run. The other cars came to a rest with the unidentified man´s car bursting into flames. The other two people involved were taken to Hanford Community Hospital with minor injuries. The unknown person´s identity is being held until his family can be notified.
