A criminal profiler who wrote a book about the 1988 kidnapping of seven-year-old Amber Swartz-Garcia has doubts that a former Roman Catholic priest was involved in her disappearance. Stephen Kiesle, a convicted child molester, lived on Amber´s street in Pinole when she disappeared. But John Philpin, a retired forensic psychologist and criminal profiler, says descriptions from people who knew Kiesle differ from the type of person he believes took Amber. Philpin has worked on more than 300 murder investigations. He says he believes the person who took Amber is a predator who likes to frighten his victims. Philpin says he hasn´t seen anything to indicate Kiesle operated that way.
