Bomb scare shuts down the Stanislaus County Courthouse

MODESTO, Calif. (AP) __ A bomb scare that shut down the Stanislaus County courthouse produced only a duffel bag filled with cardboard. Authorities evacuated the building and called in the bomb squad after the bag was found at the front door yesterday morning. Officials say they took those precautions because of attacks on judges in other parts of the country.
