Missing Hiker Rescued
San Andreas, CA -- A missing hiker was rescued over the weekend by emergency crews in Calaveras County.
29-year-old Kyle Briggs of Auburn went out hiking in snowshoes Saturday in the Camp Connell area and failed to return.
On Sunday morning the Calaveras County Search and Rescue Team and the Sheriff's Department launched a search using several snowmobiles, a snow cat and skiers.
The CHP responded with a helicopter and two Black Hawk helicopters were also flown in thanks to the California Emergency Management Agency.
At 1:30pm Sunday, Briggs was located by a helicopter and flown into Columbia Airport. He declined medical attention and was released.
