Gayle In Jail
San Andreas, CA -- 24 year old James Anthony Gayle of Murphys spent his Tuesday evening in the Calaveras County Jail.
Gayle was arrested at 10:45pm on a charge of driving-under-the-influence and hit-and-run.
According to the CHP report Gayle was parked at the Chevron Station in Murphys. Due to his high level of intoxication he started his vehicle and ran into and dislodged the wooden porch support in front of the business. He then backed off of the support and fled the scene at a high rate of speed.
Gayle was identified by witnesses and surveillance footage. He was later arrested at a nearby residence.
23 year old Jessica L. Harris of Angels Camp was identified as Gayle's passenger. She was not arrested.
