A drencher of a weather system is expected to impact central and northern California early next week.

The National Weather Service indicates that the bulk of this system will affect the regional area beginning Monday night and will continue through Wednesday.

Precipitation amounts in the central valley could exceed one inch, with three to five inches of total rainfall forecast in the foothills and the mountains.

Impacts from this rainfall could include urban and small stream flooding where heaviest amounts occur.

Temperatures in the Sierra Nevada will be fairly warm with snow levels expected to remain above 8500 feet.

Winds are expected to be breezy with 30 mph sustained winds in the valley. The foothills and the mountains could experience gusts up to 50 mph.
