Sonora, Ebbetts and Tioga Passes Closed Due To Snow
Highways 108 (Sonora Pass), 4 (Ebbetts Pass) and 120 (Tioga Pass) are all temporarily closed due to snow.
Sonora Pass is closed at Kennedy Meadows. Ebbetts Pass is closed after the Mt. Reba turnoff. Tioga Pass is closed at Crane Flat.
Highway 88 Carson Pass has chains required at Silver Lake.
The snow level was around 6000 feet this morning and is expected to lower to around 5000 feet by tonight. Only an additional inch or two of snow is expected.
Winds are gusting up to 65mph over the summits.
If you're heading into the mountains, be sure to carry chains and carry extra clothing.
