Labor Day Celebration Set For Monday

The Calaveras Community Band will conclude the Labor Day weekend with a completely free holiday celebration.

Bandmaster, Mic Harper, was Fridy's KVML "Newsmaker of the Day".

The Calaveras Community Band has been in existence for the past 120 years. The band is made up of musicians who enjoy entertaing residents throughout nearly every section of Calaveras County.

The Labor Day concert will take place at Murphy's Community Park beginning at 6:30pm. Families are invited to bring lawn chairs and picnic food to eat.

Music will range from patriotic songs to dixieland jazz, swing tunes and the traditional marches of John Philip Sousa.

The "Newsmaker of the Day" is heard each weekday morning on AM 1450 KVML at 6:47, 7:47 and 8:47am.
