Sonora, CA -- Sonora Regional Medical Center has been named a top performer in a Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) premier health care alliance value-based purchasing project.

This project rewards hospitals for delivering high quality care in five clinical areas. CMS designates hospitals as a "top performer" if it performs in the Top 20 percent of all participating hospitals.

Based on fourth year results from the Hospital Quality Incentive Demonstration (HQID) project, S.R.M.C. received three awards for Top Performance, Top Improvement and Attainment in the clinical areas of hip and knee, heart failure and pneumonia respectively.

From Senior Vice President of Patient Care Services Julie Kline, RN, "Providing outstanding patient care has always been our primary mission. Our successes in this project are a testament to our efforts to continuously improve the quality of care we offer our patients."
