Sonora, CA -- The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission is holding a public meeting tonight in Sonora regarding the possibility of taking an additional 25 million gallons of water each day from the Tuolumne River.

Representatives from the Tuolumne River Trust say San Francisco´s plan was originally billed as a seismic retrofit project. Now it proposes to deliver more Tuolumne water to the Bay Area.

The Tuolumne River Trust advocates that San Francisco do more conservation and recycling, drop the pipeline from their plan, and focus on the Bay Area seismic repairs. The meeting will start at 7:00pm at the Sonora Opera House on Washington Street.
