Parolee Attempts To Escape Deputies

San Andreas, CA -- During routine parole searches Wednesday by the Calaveras County Sheriff´s Department, parolee at large John Logg tried to evade capture.

The 34-year-old Logg had been spotted at Mark Twain Hospital in San Andreas. Deputies responded and were told Logg may be at the Diamond Place Apartments. Logg fled on foot as deputies approached him there.

He was eventually captured in back of the apartments and booked in county jail for resisting a peace officer and failure to register as a sex offender.

Wednesday´s searches also resulted in the arrest of 42-year-old Elizabeth Ward of Hathaway Pines for violation of parole and 23-year-old Jennifer Taphorn of West Point for an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in court.

Also, 29-year-old Jason Wiley of West Point was cited and released for an outstanding warrant and possession of 1 gram of marijuana.
