Sacramento, CA -- Last call at California restaurants, bars and nightclubs could come later under legislation proposed by a state senator from San Francisco. Senator Mark Leno's bill would allow cities and counties to petition state alcohol regulators to allow alcohol to be serviced until 4 a.m.
Senator Leno says, "Many cities in California have dynamic social activities that are vital to their economies, but they lack the flexibility to expand their businesses. This legislation would allow destination cities like San Francisco, Los Angeles and San Diego to start local conversations about the possibility of expanding nightlife and the benefits it could provide the community by boosting jobs, tourism and local tax revenue."
The bill would extend the time two hours later than current regulations.
