2012 Mother Lode Roundup Parade

Sonora, CA -- The Sonora City Council will vote on closing down streets for a couple of upcoming events.
At tonight's meeting there will be a vote to close down Highway 49 through downtown Sonora, as well as some side streets, for the May 11th Mother Lode Roundup Parade. In addition there is a request to close down a section of Highway 49 for the April 28th Gran Fondo bicycle ride. The Gran Fondo benefits Sonora Regional Medical Center's Live Well, Be Well Center. The event was launched last year in correlation with Sonora being selected to stage a portion of the Amgen Tour. The Gran Fondo will be back this year, despite Sonora not being selected to host a stage on the 2013 Tour.
The Council will also pick up conversation about the preferred alternative for the Dragoon Gulch Trail Master Plan. Tonight's meeting begins at 5pm at Sonora City Hall.
