Internet Infrastructure Traffic Delays
Sonora, CA -- The installation of the broadband internet infrastructure will be finishing up paving on O'byrnes Ferry road tomorrow morning and moving to Sorona in the afternoon, paving on Morning Star and Cemetery lane. Vehicles traveling in those areas can expect five to ten minute delays.
Crews have been using a rocksaw to trench the side of O'Byrnes Ferry Road, near the bridge. Work has already been done to instal utilities in Sonora on Lyons Street near Shepherd Street.
The work is part of the CVIN Broadband infrastructure installation. The 18-county CVIN project was funded by the federal stimulus package in 2009. It is designed to increase the broadband infrastructure of the region.
