Sonora. CA -- A picture is worth a thousand words and some awards too. The Central Sierra Arts Council's is recognizing some photographers for their picture perfect shots in the 26th annual InFocus photography competition and exhibition.

This year's winners:

Charles Moore Excellence in Photography - Laurie Sylwester, Trujillo Dancers

Best of Show - Connie Casinnetto, Inside

Color:
First Place - Rich Miller, This is Gonna Hurt;
2nd Place - Susan Conner, When the Sun Comes Back
3rd Place - Laurie Sylwester, San Blas Corpus Christi
Honorable Mentions - Lorraine Nilson, Star Trails Over Mono Lake and Volker Norpchen, Sunset Cedar Ridge

Monochrome:
First Place - Andrew Quist, Preservation Hall
2nd Place - Derek Rosen, Sam
3rd Place - Eric Bjerke Street Chess
Honorable Mentions - Kevin Reilly, Moss Beach and Daniel Ryan, Pond Reflection

Alternative Process:
First Place - Larry Lew, Delta Sunset
2nd Place - Chuck Giordano, Fuschia
3rd Place - Eric Bjerke, Firebird
Honorable Mention - Anna Barber, Roses on Fire

Judges Choice Awards:
Joan Bobkoff: Roses on Fire by Anna Barber
Kim Komenich: Preservation Hall by Andrew Quist
Larry Angier: Moss Beach by Kevin Reilly

Their prizes:
Charles Moore Excellence in Photography $200 and trophy
Best of Show $100 and ribbon
First Place in each category $100 and ribbon
Second Place in each category $75 and ribbon
Third Place in each category $50 and ribbon
Judges Choice and Honorable Mention receive ribbons

The prizes will be awarded at a reception on January 26th.
