Shutter Bug Training
Columbia, CA -- National Geographic photographer Phil Schermeister will teach a nature photography course in the spring of 2013 at Columbia College. The course will begin January 18th and will meet Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:10 p.m.
College Officials say the course is an introduction to producing professional quality nature photographs. It will focus on basic camera techniques. The course will include many trips to scenic areas in the Sierra Nevada foothills. Students will learn how to use digital cameras, all types of lenses and picture editing.
Freelance Photographer Schermeister has a long list of credits. He has completed dozens of natural history assignments for the National Geographic Society during the past twenty years across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. He has photographed numerous national parks, seashores, wildlife refuges and wild and scenic rivers. His book, Range of Light: the Sierra Nevada, was published by National Geographic's Book Division.
