A Winter Storm Warning is now in effect for the Sierra Nevada above 7000 feet, through Friday 4pm.

Half a foot to three feet of snow accumulation is expected above 7000 feet.

An inch of rain is expected in the Mother Lode.

Wind Advisories are also in effect for both the Sierra Nevada and the Mother Lode through Sunday 4pm.

Winds of twenty-five to thirty-five mph are expected with gusts up to fifty-five mph in the Mother Lode and sixty mph in the Sierra.

The next storm will arrive Saturday night or Sunday and bring more substantial rain, with the potential for heavy snow accumulations above 9000 feet.

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for both the Mother Lode and the Sierra Nevada through Sunday evening.

Rises in smaller creeks, streams and rivers may occur. Road flooding, rock slides or mud and debris flows are all possible.

Two to four inches of rain is expected in the central valley during this time period.
