Collected Cans loaded for Food Bank
Collected Cans loaded for Food Bank

Jamestown, CA -- Twelve thousand cans in just two weeks, that's the type of generosity the Chicken Ranch Casino has been seeing from customers giving to its food drive. All the donations go to ATCAA food bank in Jamestown. Customers who bring in five 16 ounce cans of food get $5 worth of casino dollars.

Casino Marketing Director Jamie Lloyd says that has brought in an avalanche of food, "This week we had cans all over the place waiting for the food bank to pick them up. We had them stored in Janitorial, in the Players Club, and in the shed.  We had cans stored everywhere."

To date they have 20 thousand cans. The food drive ends November 30th.

Also, ATCAA is holding its annual Holiday Food Drive. Barrels with the words "Feed Me" are already out in front of stores all over Tuolumne County. They say the need is great this year. On Friday, 2000 Thanksgiving dinners were given out and they expect that number to grow for the Christmas Holiday.
