New Arrest In Museum Robbery
Mariposa, CA -- The CHP reports that a fourth person has now been arrested in connection to the robbery back in September at the California Mining and Mineral Museum in Mariposa.
The latest person to be taken into custody is 42-year-old Christopher Sheffield of Sacramento. The three others arrested yesterday are 40-year-old Edward Rushing III of El Dorado County, 43-year-old Matthew Campbell of Sutter County, and 41-year-old Jonathan Mathis, also of Sutter County.
The CHP reports that they confiscated firearms and drug contraband. Officials report that the men are allegedly connected to other crimes in the region. The CHP is not saying at this point whether any of the stolen items have been recovered. The investigation is ongoing.
